Document Onboarding

Collobaration Requires Oversight
A key advantage of SharePoint is the ease of collaboration that it offers. Collaboration in an enterprise, however, is typically around a business process. For example, Sales, Legal, and Finance must collaborate to refine and generate sales contracts. Without a well-defined context for content in SharePoint, collaboration can lead to confusion. Soon, people will be asking "Am I looking at the right sales contract?" and "Has this version of the sales contract been approved by Legal?"
Tying Documents to Business Processes
Once Serena's business process applications and SharePoint Project sites are correlated using Project Onboarding, users can create, view, and update documents on SharePoint sites from its business process applications as well as from SharePoint directly. These documents are tied to a business process, thus providing necessary context.

Real Time Record Synchronization
Serena Business Mashup can store content associated with a business process application in SharePoint. Any change to business process application documents are reflected in SharePoint real-time.
Users can access and update documents related to a business process from both SharePoint and Serena Business Process applications.
Serena Business Mashups' built-in auditing and reporting capabilities provide governance and control of documents in the context of a business process. With these capabilities, it is very easy to answer questions such as "Which version of a sales contract was approved by Legal?"
