Requirements Management

Requirements Management
As the start of a systems engineering process, a strong requirements management competence allows clear and concise requirements to be captured, broken-down, and allocated to specific subsystems, components or software modules. As design activities progress across the software and other engineering domains, requirements traceability to downstream design decisions ensures strict compliance to safety, regulatory, or customer requirements.
Dimensions RM captures and manages both system and software requirements, and assists in clarifying and completing the right technical designs and specifications. Such modern development practices can promote code modularity and help identify software reuse opportunities across products - improving both development efficiency and reliability.
Requirements traceability
Through the integration with Dimensions CM, associated code changes can be associated with requirements, enabling down-stream traceability through code builds and associated baselines. Providing such end to end traceability keeps development teams on track and helps alignment with the system engineering process.
Traceability reports provide the ability to perform customized traceability analysis. Impact analysis of a changed project scope or schedule, or a gap analysis of current release against requirements can be done through traceability reports.
