Data Collection
Business Mashups automatically logs audit information for each item or request in the process. Data such as submit/close/last modified dates, submitter, and last modifier are all collected and viewable in real time. You can automate data collection for any of your custom fields, such as counters that track the number of times an item has been rejected or failed.
Data Validation
Business Mashups allows you to easily specify what data must be collected at each step of the process, ensuring your metrics are meaningful and compete. An extended Visual Basic scripting language allows you to develop validation logic to enforce your most complex business rules.
Process Automation
Automatic routing, setting of ownership and spawning of subtasks are all available to you out-of-the-box. Based on your business rules, related tasks can be set to move each other through a process, for example:
- A parent task moving to a different state can move its associated child tasks to a different state
- A child task moving to a different state can move its associated parent task to a different state
- A child task moving to a different state can move its associated sibling tasks to a different state
Process Enforcement
You've worked long and hard to determine the optimal process, now you need to ensure that the process is followed to prove regulatory compliance. Business Mashups gives you the tools you need to enforce all aspects of your process including:
- Ownership
- Process path based on item type or role membership
- Data collection
- Dependent fields, where the selected value of a drop-down field can filter the value set of another drop-down field
- Escalation of items to different owners or states
- Notifications
- Restrict access to items in the process based on role
System Interaction
At any step in the process, Business Mashups allows you to interact with external tools such as payroll, configuration management, document management, customer resource management, even Google Maps. You can bring data from external tools for display or for satisfying your business rules.
