REDWOOD CITY, Calif. — July 1, 2008 — Serena Software was voted the winner for Best Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) Strategy Service Provider at the recent 2008 Gartner Project and Portfolio Summit in Orlando, Florida. Serena Mariner, its project and portfolio management offering, was also named a finalist in the Best Portfolio Analysis. The Gartner PPM Summit Innovation Awards – voted on by attending executives – recognize technology and service providers for their product and professional service solutions.
The theme at this year's summit was the increasing importance of PPM and aligning IT with the business in light of the current economic slowdown and corresponding cost constraints. Gartner forecasts that total PPM software revenue is to continue an annual growth of approximately 10 percent over the next three years to exceed annual revenues of $1 Billion in 2009.
