Effective Release Management is crucial to maintain software release schedules and ensure software quality. In its role of overseeing the implementation and rollout of approved software changes Release Management often spans multiple departments and activities, including builds and deployment to production.

During this session we will detail how you can use Dimensions to establish an effective Software Release Management process. We will detail how Dimensions captures development and project assets, as well as their attributes and relationships, into a release baseline and then uses filters to select files from the baseline for a specific purpose, such as QA testing. Files and other assets cannot get out of sync because they are stored and retrieved from a single configuration management database (CMDB).

You’ll find out how you can use Dimensions to improve your overall release management process including code movement, population of test environments, deploying to production and propagation of database changes to test or production environments synchronised with the code deployment.

Join us for this informative session where we’ll discuss:

  • Creating baselines
  • Deployment of files and releases
  • Uses of area scripts
  • Deploying database changes
  • Rolling back changes if necessary
