Jeremy Burton Jeremy Burton
President and Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Burton brings 20 years in the high technology industry to Serena as president and CEO. Prior to joining Serena, Mr. Burton was group president of the enterprise security and data management business unit at Symantec. Mr. Burton was responsible for engineering, product management, alliances, and business development for Symantec's endpoint security, compliance, archiving, Windows backup, security response, and managed security service offerings.

Mr. Burton joined Symantec through the company's merger with VERITAS Software in July 2005. At VERITAS, he was executive vice president of the data management group. Previously, he served as the company's senior vice president and chief marketing officer.

Before joining VERITAS in April 2002, Mr. Burton served as senior vice president of product and services marketing at Oracle Corporation. He also founded Oracle's developer program, Oracle Technology Network, which today has millions of members. Before working in marketing, Mr. Burton held positions in customer support, pre-sales, product management, and engineering.

Mr. Burton graduated from the University of Surrey in Guildford, England in June 1990 with a bachelor's degree in information systems engineering. He and his wife, Ruth, have three children.

   
 
Robert I. Pender, Jr. Robert I. Pender, Jr.
Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President of Finance and Administration

Mr. Pender joined Serena Software in 1997 and has more than 13 years of management experience in corporate finance and administration in the software industry. Mr. Pender is responsible for managing Serena's finance, human resources, administration and information services.

Prior to joining Serena Software, Mr. Pender served as VP of finance at Mosaix, Inc., an enterprise customer management and call center company, which was sold to Lucent. Mosaix was the result of a 1996 merger involving ViewStar Corporation, where Mr. Pender was chief financial officer. Before ViewStar Corp., he served as the controller for Versant Object Technology and began his career with Arthur Andersen & Company.

   
 
Carl Theobald Carl Theobald
Senior Vice President of Products

Mr. Theobald is responsible for overseeing worldwide research and development operations for Serena's Change Governance solutions. He brings extensive experience in the definition and development of enterprise software applications.

Previously, Mr. Theobald served in a variety of roles at Oracle Corporation, including VP of development in Oracle's applications division. Mr. Theobald has also worked at multiple venture-backed companies in senior management positions. He earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Princeton University and a master's degree in engineering-economic systems from Stanford University.

   
 
Ed Malysz Ed Malysz
Senior Vice President, General Counsel

Mr. Malysz is responsible for Serena's worldwide legal function. Prior to joining Serena, Mr. Malysz served as VP, Legal of Symantec Corporation, a leading security and storage software company. Mr. Malysz has also held senior management and legal positions at a number of technology companies, including VERITAS Software, E-Stamp Corporation and Silicon Graphics, Inc. Prior to practicing law, Mr. Malysz was a certified public accountant with Arthur Young & Company. Mr. Malysz earned his bachelor's degree in economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara and J.D. from Santa Clara University.

   
 
René Bonvanie René Bonvanie
Senior Vice President, Marketing, Information Technology, and Serena On Demand

René Bonvanie brings nearly 25 years of executive management and marketing experience in the enterprise software industry to Serena. At Serena, Mr. Bonvanie's responsibilities include developing business and marketing strategies to consolidate Serena's position as the leader in application lifecycle management (ALM) and capitalize on future trends in application development, such as Agile and Mashups. He also leads Serena's information technology efforts for our employees as well as our customers through our Software-as-a-Service offerings.

Before joining Serena, Mr. Bonvanie served as SVP and GM of AppExchange and Developer Relations at salesforce.com. Prior to that, Mr. Bonvanie served as senior vice president of global marketing at SAP, chief marketing officer at Business Objects, senior vice president of worldwide marketing at VERITAS Software Corporation, vice president of product marketing at Oracle Corporation, and senior sales and marketing positions at Ingres.

Mr. Bonvanie holds a bachelor's degree in Economics from Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam, Netherlands. He lives with his wife Marie and three sons in Foster City, CA.

   
 
Peter Sianchuk Peter Sianchuk
Vice President, Worldwide Customer Support

With more than 16 years of experience leading successful customer service organizations in the software industry, Mr. Sianchuk provides tremendous knowledge to Serena as VP of worldwide customer support. Promoted to this position in 2005, his primary responsibility is to ensure that Serena's support organization is one the most customer-focused teams in the world.

Prior to his current role, Mr. Sianchuk served as senior director of support at Serena, where he was instrumental in managing support services for Serena's global customer base. Mr. Sianchuk joined Serena following the acquisition of Merant, where he built the company's customer service organization in Asia Pacific and expanded support operations in Europe.

Prior to Merant, Mr. Sianchuk spent five years at Intersolv, where he held several positions including support engineer, consultant and manager for both regional and centralized support functions. Mr. Sianchuk began his career as a mainframe developer and systems analyst. He earned an honors degree in computer engineering from the University of Teesside, Teesside, UK.
