Achieving Immediate and Continuous Bug Fixes in Agile Development
We all understand, at least theoretically, that bugs are a major source of waste in software development. We have experienced development environments where no more than 5 bugs were ever open on an 18 month project with a twelve member team. While not all projects are this size, the techniques used do scale amazingly well. During this 30 minute webcast we will explore how this kind of performance is possible and what it takes to do so.

Reduce Time Spent on PCI/DSS Audits With Process Automation
This has
When you gain efficiencies in IT Process management and in controls testing, you drastically reduce the amount of time you spend recording and evaluating evidence for PCI/DDS regulatory compliance requirements. It’s a simple approach that any information technology or audit team can leverage.
Passive approaches to evidence generationand testing often yield manual evidence collection via “sneaker net”,manual testing with visits and re-visits to control owners, management of testing and remediation activities tracked in static files, and an inability to leverage robust reporting strategies. With Serena Business Mashups and 18 standard PCI evidence gathering/generating processes you can meet your oversight requirements as defined by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), plus those required by the PCI Standards Council. These workflows enable you to report on the status of processes in real time and deliver audit evidence that is relevant and specific to the PCI/DSS testing requirements.
In this thought-provoking, informative session, Renee will provide insight into the question: What if you could take your PCI evaluation process from eight weeks down to eight hours through a more aggressive strategy for compliance?
Renee Murphy, Founder/ Principal Consultant, fyoozhen+Consulting, Inc
Renee, a former Vice President of Technical Operations, has over eleven years of technology experience in the software, financial, entertainment, retail, and service industries implementing Control Objectives for Information and related Technology (CObIT) standards framework for auditable IT controls and Technical Operations generally accepted practices for Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and regulatory compliance. Prior to joining fyoozhen+Consulting, Renee’s extensive experience includes serving as an external SOX auditor for the fifth largest CPA firm in the country and continues to provide internal audit services to several of fyoozhen’s clients. Her unique professional experience in both technology management and external audit give her a unique approach to controls testing and evidence generation.

Lean BPM - What Organizations Are Looking for From BPM Today
Traditional BPM faces two primary shifts in the needs of today's organizations: expectations and technology. From an expectation perspective, organizations still need business process improvement and management. However, they also need easier, faster and cheaper methods to address the broad range of simple to complex requirements. From a technology perspective, the landscape has changed. Those responsible for improving processes (and reducing costs) must consider the following:
- BPM via Software-as-a-Service (SaaS)
- Adding plug-and-play modules or Web 2.0 technology
- Ad-hoc modeling and delivery methods
We encourage you to view Clay Richardson, Forrester Analyst specializing in BPM, for this on demand webinar sponsored by Serena Software. Clay will discuss these changing trends and needs, and the key elements organizations need to consider when looking to reduce their costs, streamline their processes and get the most out of their people and systems.

He has focused on business process improvement, business process management, systems analysis and design, and project management for enterprise software implementations—based on best-of-breed BPM platforms and solutions. Unified Development Process Management
Bringing standardization, process and predictability to the heterogeneous SCM environment
If you're like many development shops, standardizing on a single software change and configuration management (SCCM) solution is more an ideal than a reality, especially given the current economic environment. Many shops use multiple software configuration management (SCM) tools for different projects, platforms, and technologies, and near-term consolidation simply isn't feasible. The reality of using a heterogeneous mix of SCCM solutions comes with some challenges.
Given this environment, do you have the visibility to tell?
- What change requests are in the next release?
- When will those changes be available?
- What is the your development team’s velocity, and how is it trending over time?
If these challenges sound familiar to you, we encourage you to watch Jeffrey Hammond, Senior Analyst at Forrester Research, for this on demand webinar sponsored by Serena Software. Jeffrey will discuss todays leading strategy around unified development process management that unifies multiple SCM tools via a single process management tool. This heterogeneous SCM strategy lets you enforce a common process and collect apples-to-apples metrics while permitting developers to use the SCM tool of their choice.

Jeffrey serves Application Development & Program Management professionals. He is a leading expert on software modeling techniques, integrated development environments, and the emergence of new rich Internet application development practices and tools.

What To Do When It's 3AM And Production Is Down
Production outages are a highly visible reality in the data center. There is never a good time for systems to fail and, when they do, all that matters is getting them back online as soon as possible. Application developers typically know what they changed during development, but who knows what all the changes are in a release? How do the teams in the data center know what's coming and what's going to be changed? How do they know what to do if the changes are bad? How does the troubleshooter identify all the elements that changed at 3:00 am when the team is asleep? What changes were made by the Systems Programmers, Database Administrators or Production Control teams?
Watch this on demand webinar to learn how application development, release management and IT operations can work together to maximize uptime, eliminate unexpected changes and predict and prevent outages. Change is essential: failure is not.

Bridging the Divide: a more Harmonious Relationship Between App Dev and IT Ops
Benny Westeadt, Chief Architect PSW Consulting
Mark Levy, Sr. Product Manager
The hand off of applications from Applications Development to IT Operations is often a struggle for enterprise IT shops. Applications Development, with their focus on customer satisfaction and aligning with business, wants it to be easy to change the production environment. A primary focus of IT Operations is on protecting the production environment and is often reluctant to introduce changes that could potentially introduce instability. Organizations wanting to reduce the costs associated with putting changes into production, improve end-user satisfaction and business alignment, all the while reducing risks to the business caused by application failures, need to bridge this App Dev/IT Ops divide. These organizations need Release Management. This Webinar will explore the complexities of enterprise release management, and look at best practices for addressing this complex issue.
