Elicit the Right Requirements: Two Powerful Techniques for Software Developers

Overview

As part of Requirements Management Best Practices, this educational production pays homage to the reality that “There is nothing that can be done later in a software project to overcome failings during the elicitation stage…except to spend more money, take longer, incur higher risk and deliver lower quality. Elicitation matters.”

Topics covered in this educational production include:

  • What is a requirement? If you’re not eliciting these, then just what are you collecting?
  • What is your requirements process? Do you employ Agile, CMMI, or others? The choices you make in elicitation technique will affect everything about your project... right or wrong.
  • Did you know, requirements elicitation methods can vary in duration as much as ten times…without any meaningful difference in yield?
  • Why establishing, defining and understanding the “context” and “situation” of the requirements can be more important than the requirements themselves.
  • Make this process simple and up to nine times faster using powerful software requirements elicitation techniques.
