Serena Gives Back, A New Story Effort

During the holiday season, oftentimes people get so busy and distracted with our million and one things to do on our lists, we forget to stop and think about the less fortunate. This year I wanted to team together with all Serena employees to make a real and transparent difference. To unite in helping to build a home for a family in need.

We accomplished this through the charity organization, New Story, who funds life-saving homes, turning tent slums into sustainable communities for families living in danger around the world. Their first new story created was in Leveque, Haiti – depleting a whole tent slum, providing 151 homes and creating a new community. They are now currently on mission to deplete a slum village in El Salvador.

Our mission was for Serena to open our hearts and give the gift of a home to a family.

  • Every single penny donated will go straight to building a house for a displaced family.
  • The home we will build will be built by a LOCAL organization, which drastically lowers construction costs. It takes exactly $6,003.13 USD to build one home.
  • We WILL get to see the exact home and family housed. We will get to hear about how this home is changing their story.

By the end of the day of the announcement of this campaign, we exceeded our fundraising goal of $6,000 to build a new home. To date, we have reached 125% of our goal. Together, we did it! I’m completely blown away by the outpouring of generosity from the Serena team!

Happy Holidays to all.
