Serena Dimensions RM offers full requirements management and traceability that provides role based views and visibility into the requirements lifecycle. With RM, organizations can centralize and organize their requirements allowing them to manage the complexity of development projects efficiently. RTM's web client home page menus are customizable and you can also view pending change requests and personalized reports upon login.

Managers don't need to make huge investments in expensive methodology training in order to see the benefits of Dimensions RM. RM actually encourages user participation by leveraging familiar desktop tools like Microsoft Word and favorite web browsers, reducing time to productivity. Users can quickly capture legacy requirements from existing Word documents into the RM environment, or use RM's bi-directional Word interface or even the web browser word-like view to author new requirements.

Serena Composer works with Dimensions RM to model, prototype and visualize interactive applications. Composer has a rich user interface using a familiar office application look and feel, including a navigation pane on the left a task pane on the right, as well as menus and visual toolbars to provide access to key capabilities.

Baselining requirements is usually the first step after the requirements are defined and agreed upon. With Dimensions RM you can baseline one or hundreds of requirements or even the requirements document. With this flexibility, you can freeze your requirements at various milestones within the project lifecycle - preventing any further changes to the requirement or even the document itself.

Once data is captured into the Dimensions RM repository, you can then begin to track that data across development lifecycles, projects, and even organizations. This traceability gives users the power to answer key questions, like; what marketing requirements have no product requirements associated with them or what functions in the design are not needed and should be eliminated?

Dimensions RM offers dynamic reporting using the web browser. You can create, save and run your own personalized reports or run quick search reports. Permission based reporting is available across the different types of requirements and releases or only on your project offering full visibility into your project.
